This has taken longer than I had wanted, sickness, a baby that only catnaps 10 - 20 minutes, 45 minutes max and cranky etc! but finally I will open to names now.

So, if you would like to make a custom order, I will take names from now until Thursday Night 10 June at midnight.

I will use these names in a draw as I have done previously.

1. please EMAIL me with your name and "Custom order draw" in the SUBJECT LINE.
2. I will open it from now until Midnight EST Thursday night 10 June.
3. Minimum of 2 nappies, maximum order of 6.
4. I will draw 2 names and post them on the blog on Friday morning. You have until midnight Friday to make contact with me via email or you will FORFEIT your spot.
5. From Payment Received to Postage, please allow standard 2 week processing time for your order. I would appreciate if customers could be quick with communication and payment.
6. The next 2 names will be posted APPROX 3 weeks from now once the first batch is finished.

Let's hope I can get back into this well! I have an appreciation for other WAHMs with 3 littlies still at home, the housework/cleaning has increased dramatically, as soon as the place is clean it is messy/dirty again, as with all the clothes! Cooking also greatly increased since 2 of us are now completely dairy free and require all homemade substituted snacks etc... ahhh the joys!!! But I will do my best!! Good luck!

An update!

My little man is almost 3 months old! The time has absolutely flown by!

I must admit, I have taken more time off than I expected - because we moved house while I had morning sickness, and then life got far too hectic for the rest of the pregnancy (and physically I was struggling just with normal duties!), a lot of our stuff never actually got unpacked or sorted out! So a lot of jobs have been waiting for 8 months to be done. I also decided to relocate my office, moving all the furniture, fabric, etc etc, which also turned out to be a large job (still to be completely cleaned and sorted through.)

Needless to say trying to get through all of my backlog of jobs, plus have 2 young boys and a newborn and keep on top of normal household duties, still renovating, furniture shopping and keeping up a social life (importantly!) has proven to be a little more difficult than I accounted for.

So I am doing my best to achieve all of the things I need to before I commit myself to taking on extra work. I do hope to start shortly, so will announce opening of orders in some form on the blog. I will most probably start off with small amounts of work to work out how much I can cope with.

Thank you all so much for your patience! I really have valued having the extra mental space to be able to enjoy the new arrival to our family and see how the dynamics have changed!

Aren't newborns in cloth nappies the cutest?

and just because he is gorgeous, here you go.... doesn't he look like an angel? Well, he is (some of the time!!!)
I am still enjoying a break from working... but life has been still a little hectic as we are in the middle of renovations again (yes, with a newborn!) including carpetting, tiling, painting, sanding, which means between moving a house full of furniture around and looking after 2 toddlers who fight these days more than they play together, and feeding a newborn, cleaning the house repetitively from the mess renovating makes, and all the normal day to day duties, I have made it down to my office maybe twice since Zac was born!! But he is proving to be a very personable baby, smiling since 1 week, and staring intently into everyone's eyes "talking" to them. I do love babies!

Ok, home from hospital and settling into life with 3 little boys 3 and under! Lots of fun!

I am feeling good, best I have since a lot of the pregnancy... although 8pd 5oz is not a huge baby, I am a small person and carrying this load has been a little harder on my body! Considering my boys have been 5pd 4oz, 7pd 6oz, and now 8pd 5oz with 37cm head circ, I'm not sure if I'm game to keep going!! My labour was by far the longest and most intense with things not progressing how they should, and I have a bit of a history of complications, but thankfully we both came out of it healthy and well in the end.

So, he is definitely a cutie, just learning to see what sort of baby he is!!

...When you cross a 37 week pregnant woman hurrying to work on last minute embroideries (due to recently having an enjoyable bout of a 24 hour vomitting/gastro bug) and a whole lot of stuff still to prepare before her bub comes?

AN ACCIDENT WITH AN EMBROIDERY MACHINE! Yes, I guess sewing accidents are likely at some point in time... mine came with the embroidery needle sewing through my fingernail into my index finger to the bone numerous times before I realised I couldn't pull my finger off the needle and I had to press the stop button with my other hand before the barrage of needle punching would stop!!! With a quick slide off the needle using my other hand, my finger was finally free, with a disappointingly minimal APPEARANCE of injury, but very PAINFUL finger. I decided I would use this experience to remember in impending labour!!

Anyway, here are the last couple of pics, one lucky last still to come, hopefully before bub comes!

Ok, here is the story! I am finding it increasingly uncomfortable to sew and snap! So, in the midst of trying to get my own bub stash completed, I am going to offer 2 LAST SPOTS before bub is born! I will then be having a break, as I am not sure exactly when bub will turn up, and after bub is born, I will assess how much time I have to get work done as to how much I can take on, and how soon after the birth!

So, the last 2 spots will have the following conditions:

1. It will work as a lottery draw again... please EMAIL me with your name and "Lottery" in the SUBJECT LINE.
2. I will open it from now until 8pm EST Friday night 15 January.

I am still having a little holiday at present, but will be returning early next week. Pics of a couple of the premade nappies that went out with a custom order added... I haven't actually taken photos of all of them unfortunately, so here is a few...

So, the question is, are people still wanting some Christmas nappies, or just a few other nappies/nappy sets? I'm not sure whether to do any more Christmas nappies...

But I will hopefully have a non-Christmassy girly nappy/top set listed on the blog within the next day, then I am off for our anniversary night away, yay!! Why did we get married at such a busy time of year??? Well, I love summer, love the lead up to Christmas, we had a relatively short engagement and that was the only date left at the church I wanted to get married at before the next year! So, each year, in the midst of chaos, we try to get away for a day and a night (which we never otherwise do without the kiddies) and take some time out, which is actually really good.

So please comment if you like about whether or not some more Christmas nappies would be required. Thanks!!

A couple more days away for new listings - now the overlocker has decided to stage a strike despite me spending around 6 hours just today trying and retrying to fix it! I think I could almost be a qualified machine servicer by now!!! Have had some improvement, so all being well with some more work, (without needing to send it to the repairman, which will take days) hopefully will get another listing on about Wednesday/evening.

Sorry, just a quick note to say I had planned on getting a few more pre-mades out at the end of this week, however after a recent series of unusual symptoms and sickness (are all 3rd pregnancies so sickness/exhaustion prone?!) which has required a few bail-outs by family and friends just getting through the evenings with the kiddies, I have only been able to work on finishing the previous pre-made/custom purchases in small windows of okayness!. So, some more will be coming again soon, and a few different designs also. So keep watching this space!

Christmas nappies and orders

Why is it when one thing breaks down/stops working properly, everything starts following suit? In the last couple of days, it has been my embroidery machine driving me crazy, then my good camera decided to momentarily pack it in right when I needed it (hence the dodgy and lack of pics!) and now my computer has gone on long service leave!!! So I have wasted hours trying to work with the first and last offenders, with little success so far. Computerised technology can save so much time, but I'm sure when you add up how much time you can waste when it goes wrong, you are probably really better off without it!

Anyway, a quick pic of the latest order finished(I have missed a few other pics, and they are on my other computer, sorry!)

The purchaser of the nappy will also have the opportunity to add ONE custom nappy of choice to your purchase to make the most of the $5.50 postage. You do not HAVE to order an extra nappy, you might just like the one nappy, but the opportunity is there.

And slightly off the topic, here is one of our 2 new pets, Mr and Mrs (well, we think!) Nemo! Both the boys were very excited to welcome them to our home, with DS2 babbling gibberish over and over to them. They are a little shy though, so hard to catch coming out of the rock.

I am also off on a little trip at the end of the week, a women's conference. It will be the first time I have left my boys for 2 nights, so I hope they all survive ok! But I definitely will have limited access to email etc so please be aware of that. Please keep the suggestions coming with Christmas designs!

More orders and fabric

I am getting slack with posting my pics! Below are the latest two orders. The ladybug set was with metallic red thread, so pretty and sparkly (my pics aren't very good - AGAIN!). And the other Christmas nappy had small writing so hard to see in the pic, but it was to Santa offering to "take my brother. leave the gifts". I'm sure I felt that way times 3 brothers when I was growing up!

I am starting to get more bursts of energy here and there... the house is SOMEWHAT clean, SOME of the time! It's hard when we are still doing renos all the time - the latest addition has been a giant marine fish tank built into one of our walls... DHs new hobby... lets hope we don't kill as many expensive marine fish as we have goldfish... We were up to about Mr Goldie the 6th, as well as some others in the last few months! But more sewing related, I bought some nice new shelves to put all my fabrics in, as the crates were driving me crazy, digging through to find different minkees etc. So I should take a pic of my more organised sewing room - there is still a lot I want to do though, and we need to put a new floor down and paint the walls - beige is not very creativity-inducing!

I also have some more new fabrics, including apple green dot, Sunshine yellow dot, tequila sunrise gelato, and another little specialty, to be revealed when I take some pics!!! Oh and plenty of Red dot minkee for some Chrissy nappies....I'm not sure how to offer some - by pre-order, or pre-made stock - anyone got any preferences? Feel free to let me know! And if you find any cute Christmas embroideries... I like doing customs because I don't have to choose embroideries - it is so hard!

The first 2 orders from the second batch have gone out - the pics aren't great as I was pushing it to the last minute with both to get them to the post office on time!!

I also have a few new fabrics just arrived, and about to arrive, including Mixed Berry, Aurora, Tequila Sunrise and some yet to see... I still have about 3-4weeks worth of current orders, then will be updating the blog as to whether I will take a few more orders, or will work on some pre-made stock. I am at least starting to feel like a normal person again... and I am already HALF WAY THROUGH my pregnancy... how does that happen? Third time has gone so fast!!

I'm back!! With news!!

After a massive haul with the move (why we spread it out thinking that would be easier, I have no idea!!) and waiting to get the office set up and back online, I have finally survived!

Firstly, a huge thank you to the last of my customer orders, who have been SOOOOOOOO patient with me!!! I'm sorry it dragged out at the end!

So, my big news, other than that we are now in the new house (although yet to unpack most of our belongings, including the sewing machines, fabric etc!!) is the we are expecting a NEW BABY!!! We are very excited to be having number 3 and I am due late February. HENCE, I had tried to organise the finishing of orders and the move to accommodate MORNING SICKNESS (which is actually more midday to night sickness for me!), but it all happened a tiny bit earlier than planned, therefore wasn't quite finished my orders etc. I am still not 100%, although feeling better than I was, but still no energy, hence the house not being unpacked!!

This also means I need a little more time to get back into the swing of things and get sewing again!!! I have yet to decide whether to take some custom orders in the meantime before setting up the new site, or how it will work. I am guessing I need a couple more weeks to decide. But I will post news on this site as soon as I have any!

So, thank you to everyone for your patience, and to all the emails I have received about taking orders again, I'm sorry it has taken so long to update the blog!!!

Have been a little slack! I took a little time off for my birthday, yes another year older! And have been busy due to end of financial year - for my own business and my father's - which incidentally coincides with my birthday! Anyway, had a quiet day with my boys, unfortunately the weather was horrible and we couldn't think of anything much exciting to do!!

Am finally down to my last couple of orders! Will finish them off and get to the joyful task of packing up house - woo hoo!!! Ok, I'm not exactly looking forward to that! Although, thanks to our last move, I have culled a lot of stuff.... but then again, I have gained a lot too...... oh well!

No piccies today! All the most recent orders have been using designs we have already seen!

I have now decided, to help prevent the possibility of wing droop on the nappies (now that the wings aren't as wide which helped prevent it in old style), that I will now automatically put 4 snaps on each of the wing snaps instead of just 2. If you are ordering a medium and would like them added to the mediums as well, please ASK SPECIFICALLY for this during your order.

I have a BIG batch of orders in the next group, I will definitely be wading my way through those orders! But will hopefully have some good piccies to share in a few weeks time!

Ok, so we have just decided, in our ever so spontaneous fashion that we are going to move house!!! The aim is at this point around early August, but we have a lot to finish on the house before we move out..... so on the downside, it will probably take a bit longer than I planned to get some stock together for the new site.....

on the UPSIDE, my new workspace will be HUGE compared to what it is now (seriously, my study/office/sewing room is like a sweatshop - apalling conditions!! lol).... think a 3x3.5m room presently with a filing cabinet, tall cupboard, 2 desks, 3 machines, sewing cabinet, computer, fabric etc etc.... so, hopefully it may even make my time more efficient so I can get more done! (am I dreaming?!)

Absorbency vs Drying Time and Custom Orders

I would love some feedback on the absorbency of Mijee-mite nappies.... I know most people find them very absorbent, yet still quite quick drying.

What I would like to know is, would you like them more absorbent, which will increase drying time?

Is drying time important to a lot of people?

Or is absorbency more important?

Also, unfortunately I will have to stop taking custom orders for a period of time to make some stock and spend time on the launch of the website. Hence I will stop taking any NEW enquiries of custom orders from this WEDNESDAY 13 May. I may close the orders earlier than that, as there are only a few spots left!!!!

Some more orders using some new designs. I didn't quite get as many orders done as I would have liked, but I am getting through them!

Monday is the start of the next batch - if I promised you were in this batch and you don't receive an email by Monday night, please email me again :) I don't mind being pestered and I wouldn't like to miss anyone!!

I am also giving a MCN talk at a local meeting this Monday, so I am hoping I go ok with that!!! I am trying to think of ways to make the talk interesting! But it is an unusual format, so I'm not sure how much I can do!

I am also sorry to announce that I cannot continue to offer the same bulk pack discount as I was. The prices of individual nappies will stay the same, but bulk discounts will not be quite what they were.... I think we all know the rising cost of all materials ... but I am trying to absorb it as much as possible :)

Well, I got back for the weekend actually, but I'm back in the swing today. You know the unpacking, tonnes of washing and cleaning that you need to do when you get back... And I did a major overhaul of my sewing room, which was being quickly overtaken by stray bits of cotton, fabric, cut out boosters, minkee, PUL and suede, fabric for my "secret" nappies!!, scrapbooking stuff, photography stuff, computer, filing etc etc!! And it isn't a big room, I can assure you!

Working to finish the latest batch of orders, hopefully early as it is my DS2's first birthday tomorrow and we are having a party on Saturday, so I know I will spend late into the nights stuffing goody bags, organising games, photo slide show etc!! And it would be nice to have Mother's Day off :)

Off on a little trip, that is! DH informed me the other day he decided we were going away for a few days to a conference, so I got ahead on a few orders so I could take the break. It will be fun, and we are staying on the Harbour in Sydney so we can take the boys to the aquarium etc. However, they are both terrible sleepers, very light and easily woken, and I have never had them sleep in the same room!!! Even at Christmas when we were away, I stuck one in the study off our bedroom and the other in the walk in wardrobe, both with white noise (which is also in both their rooms at home!)!! So, with especially the youngest having woken heaps and cried for hours the last few nights (sick, teething etc), and DS1 who gets in the WORST moods with not enough sleep or getting woken, it should be fun with us all together!!!

I will still have access to emails, although a little limited!

about nappies that is!! I made my first draft today of a nappy I have had made in my mind for a couple of months.... one that is.... different, but I'm sure you will love!

As soon as custom orders slow down abit, and I actually get time to work on these "other nappies", they will be launched on my new website. The "other nappies" will ONLY be available by the store stocking system - a regular time each month when you can purchase the nappies that are in stock. These nappies promise to be original, and ultra special! They will not be able to be custom ordered (unless a pack is ordered, in which case one of these may be included).

Custom ordered embroidered nappies will still be available to a certain extent - I won't stock my current style embroidered nappies as a general rule in the store stockings - I think customers prefer to choose their own embroideries, colours and sizes.

I have lots of ideas, however limited time (as much as I enjoy what I do, I don't want it to take time from my family) and so it is just working as hard as I can when children are in bed, husband working etc.

IF YOU HAVE A NEW SIZE STYLE NAPPY, I WOULD LOVE ANY FEEDBACK ON THE FIT. Since making my sizes larger, I have had a small amount of feedback, but would love more, even if negative. So if you have a new style nappy, (can be differentiated by the fact that the snaps are hidden), please feel free to drop me an email, or a piccie!!

Yay! So, look forward to the coming months and all will be revealed!

Phew!!

Ok, I have sent off the first lot of orders, and still working like crazy! In all the chaos, my 2 boys both have terrible colds, which means they cough, cry and vomit all night!! And of course, they got sick about the second that DH left for a few days, so I don't think I have sat down for 5 minutes in 4 days!! (except for a few hours sleep each night).

Let me just say, that when we get busy in our family, EVERYTHING happens at once. Is that the same for anyone else? And when one thing goes wrong, other things go wrong? DH malleting his thumb doing the paving (do you know how many things you can get out of when you can't use your thumb?) DS2 ended up with 2 black eyes and nose after falling TWICE on the coffee table (I wasn't there) and cracking the bridge of his nose on the edge. Then DS1 dropped a large full can of food on its rim on my toe! Ok, it hurt more than you think!!! To the doctor with a skin condition for DS2, (ok, he is in the wars at the moment!!! poor thing, and it's his event on the weekend! Hopefully his skin, cold, and black eyes disappear by then!!!). And a variety of other incidents, including closed Post Offices, Emails crashing etc etc.

So now just to get through the seminar tomorrow, event all of Sunday, pack and clean up on Sunday night while DH is out again, and have the next lot of orders out on Monday...

At present, I am extremely busy. Let's just say I have in excess of a LOT of nappies/embroideries/singlets to finish within 2 weeks! During these 2 weeks, my husband is going away for a few nights, we are paving the backyard, I have a "speaking" commitment, a family event at which I will be hosting 40 + people, a half day seminar to attend, and other various commitments. This is amidst my stay at home boys and my Accounts work that I do.

So! I am so very sorry to all those people who I have delayed making orders until the next couple of weeks. I do not like to do that, at the same time, I do like to deliver on my promises when it is in my control. And I don't want my children to forget my name, or my house be taken over by rodents or something (is that what happens when you neglect housework??!!), and I would most like to stay married lol!!

Please bear with me during this time, I may not be as quick with emails etc... I do extremely appreciate your "business" I promise!! But I do so hope to have all happy customers who have exactly what they would like, eventually!

New Patterns and SUPER heavy wetters

After some feedback commenting on the small make of my nappies (yes, I like them trim!), I have added a slightly higher rise to all 3 sizes. The nappies are still as trim as ever, they should just allow for more growth in the rise. All for my lovely customers!! :)

I am also offering an option for SUPER DOOPER BOOSTERS!!!! Please note, you will NOT need these unless you have a bub/toddler that outwets any other nappy in an hour or so - Mijee-mites are still super absorbent the way they are for the average bub. I had a super heavy wetter first time round and could not keep him clothes dry for more than an hour in any AIOs or Ai2s, so I know what it is like! If you have one of these, please ask about this option :)

Gorgeous large butterfly embroidery with lavender snaps on wings

Was used for some action shots!! Only worn for 10 minutes for some piccies using her own boosters, so the boosters with the nappy have never been worn. Also a slight indentation in the minkee (about 2cm by 2mm) where the embroidery was started again. Not noticable under normal inspection, could disappear altogether with a few washes.

Some changes to come....

Bundles of Buns has some changes to come. Make sure you keep an eye out!

We are looking to move to a "real" website in the near future! There are also some slight changes in design for the large size nappies (initially and potentially for the other sizes depending on feedback). We are also considering a wider range of different options to suit your individual baby.

We are always open to feedback! We do want to continually improve our product, so if you have suggestions, please email them to us!

Testers wanted!!
Also, looking a bit further down the track, we hope to have a great newborn nappying system that is easy, cost effective and has continued usefulness through your child's nappy life! If you are having a baby soon, and would like to use cloth from the start, please enquire about testing these products for us.
